At Broadway Lodge, our treatment approach is holistic. We don’t just help you to understand and address your addiction, we aim to support all of the psychological challenges you find difficult to cope with to aid your healing, mental and emotional well-being and your quality of life.
In addition to the scheduled therapeutic programme, one to one counselling, meditation and 12 Step work, we also offer the below specialist and holistic treatments that can be incorporated into your stay at Broadway Lodge to support you further in healing from a specific or general concern and help you to relax.
As a compassion focused treatment centre, compassion is at the heart of everything we do. We know the many benefits to mental and emotional wellbeing that can be experienced through cultivating self-compassion for oneself which is why Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) is offered at Broadway Lodge.
CFT is a form of psychotherapy that helps people to deal with difficult emotions like shame and self-criticism by learning to be kinder to themselves. It can be especially helpful for people experiencing issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, self-harm and mood disorders — many of which can often go hand-in-hand with addiction. CFT teaches clients who struggle with a loud inner critic to cultivate self-compassion, and it supports recovery by helping individuals to feel safer in themselves, build emotional strength and reduce the impact of negative thinking patterns.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a groundbreaking non-invasive, drug-free treatment that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerves in the brain which is shown to reduce cravings. Although rTMS treatment has been introduced to the UK in recent years, it has been used extensively to treat a range of conditions including OCD, depression and migraines, in countries across the world such as the USA, Germany and Australia, for over two decades. At Broadway Lodge, a course of rTMS therapy is available for an additional cost once a thorough consultation to ensure suitability for the treatment has been completed with a consultant psychiatrist.
rTMS TherapyEMDR is particularly helpful in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Symptoms from PTSD alone can be debilitating to a person’s life as their brain re-lives painful past memories time after time. With one or several sessions, the EMDR technique is designed to trigger the brain to fully process these memories so that they are no longer ‘stuck’.
EMDR TherapyHypnotherapy is a deeply relaxing therapy that is effective in helping recipients to overcome a wide variety of challenges including fears, phobias and anxiety about certain situations. At Broadway Lodge, hypnotherapy is delivered on a one to one basis and is led by a fully trained therapist and it can be successful after just one session, although more sessions may be required.
HypnotherapyThe treatment programme at Broadway Lodge will provide you with a healthy mix of challenge and support. The transition into recovery whilst in treatment can be an overwhelming, emotional and stressful journey at times and along with addiction, you may suffer from a co-existing condition that impacts your mental health such as anxiety and depression. To supplement the workshops, lectures, counselling and physical activities, holistic therapies are available to help you feel relaxed, quieten the mind, reduce tension and to encourage healing.
