In 2024, Alex spent six months at Broadway Lodge receiving treatment for ketamine addiction. She has been drug-free ever since.
In this powerful and deeply personal episode, Alex shares her story of trauma, addiction and recovery, offering an honest insight into the experiences that shaped her life.
Growing up with a single parent who struggled with alcoholism, Alex was surrounded from a young age by people using drugs and alcohol. Alex talks openly about the years that followed, exploring experiences of racism, self-harm and teenage pregnancy, as well as the devastating impact ketamine addiction had on her health. She also shares what led her to seek help, what life was like during her stay at Broadway Lodge and the positive changes she has experienced since beginning her recovery journey.
We are incredibly grateful to Alex for her honesty, courage and openness in sharing such deeply personal experiences. Her story is a powerful reminder that, even after years of trauma and addiction, recovery really is possible and achievable.
