Community Defibrillator at Broadway Lodge

We have recently had a public access defibrillator (AED) fitted on our premises by Donate for Defib Weston-super-Mare. It is now available for use by the public in an emergency.

Public access defibrillators are designed to be easy to use, with clear voice and visual instructions, and can play a vital role in saving lives in cases of sudden cardiac arrest. They deliver a shock to the heart of a patient which can help restore normal rhythm.

The defibrillator is clearly signposted and accessible, just a few meters from the pavement outside Broadway Lodge, allowing members of the public to use it if required while emergency services are contacted. The 999 operator will explain how to retrieve and use it.

As we are situated in a residential location, we hope that our neighbours feel reassured that there is a potentially lifesaving machine close by if it’s ever needed.

We are sincerely thankful to the team and volunteers at Donate for Defib Weston-super-Mare and Great Western Air Ambulance Charity for enabling this to happen and for all of the commendable work they are doing in Weston-super-Mare to help prevent deaths from cardiac arrest.
