Save 100 Lives Appeal In the UK, only 4% of people struggling with alcohol (2% drugs) receive funded residential care. Every day we answer phone calls and emails from people desperate for help, but unless they have the means to pay for themselves, we are forced to turn them away. The harsh truth is that many of these people will die without residential treatment; being unable to help is heart-breaking. We are absolutely determined to address this unjust system and are lobbying government to increase investment in residential treatment. Change will take time, however, and we have therefore launched our £1 million Save 100 Lives Appeal to fund 100 bursary places so that we can treat people who urgently need help now. Our Broadway Stars donate £5,000. This provides a 4 week funded place; in relatively straightforward cases, this is enough to turn someone’s life around. Our Silver Ambassadors donate £12,000. This pays for 12 weeks’ treatment. A 3 month stay gives someone with more complex issues around addiction a really good foundation for long-term recovery. Our Gold Ambassadors donate £25,000 Our Platinum Ambassadors donate £50,000. The Appeal launch is taking place on Wednesday 24th May, 5.30pm to 8pm at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bristol City Centre, Redcliffe Way, Bristol, BS1 6NJ. We are reaching out to our alumni, and to businesses and philanthropists in the region. If you feel passionately about our cause, and are in a position to support us personally or by raising funds through your business or professional network, please do contact us. You can donate to the Appeal here (link to single gift donation section) or if you would like an invitation to our event or to discuss making a larger gift please contact Sarah Cooper at [email protected] We will honour Broadway Star and Ambassador gifts with a plaque at Broadway Lodge, and publish our heartfelt thanks for your support (where you wish) on our website, in our literature and through our social media. We are also introducing a series of exclusive events where we will debate how to effect change in the sector with key ministers and other influencers.
