Project Worker, Location - Weston-super-Mare/Bristol

  • Salary £21,000 pro rata

Funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and Big Lottery, a position has arisen for a Project Worker as part of the West of England Works Building Better Opportunities programme.  This is a part time post, 16 hours per week, for one year, from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2018.

The aim of the programme is to support young people and adults not in employment, education or training who face multiple and complex barriers to securing sustainable employment and training across the West of England area. 

The role of the project worker will be:

  • To pro-actively attract suitable participants to the programme through advertising, networking and engagement within local communities in the Bristol area
  • To provide specialist assistance for participants with drug and/or alcohol misuse issues that are inhibiting progress into education, training and employment
  • To work primarily on a 1-1 basis, to help participants create Individual Action Plans; identify barriers to accessing education, training and employment and provide support to overcome these barriers.
  • To work collaboratively with other programme partners and specialist providers to provide a holistic package of support.
  • To complete all necessary paperwork and maintain compliance with the programme requirements
  • To work closely with and report to the Project Coordinator.

  

We require candidates who are passionate, professional and conscientious. We are also looking for candidates with a driving licence and own transport.

The successful applicant must have experience of partnership working and an awareness of the issues faced by our client group. 

Employment is conditional upon the provision of a satisfactory DBS certificate.
