Primary Care
Primary Care is a 33 bed unit for clients seeking an abstinence-based recovery from active addiction. For most clients treatment is an eight week programme, but length can be adjusted and individualised to meet particular needs.
The Primary Care treatment programme consists of:
- Individual counselling
- Group therapy
- Lectures and workshops
- Educational CDs and DVDs
- Assignments
- Therapeutic films
- Stress Management
- Fellowship Meetings
- Detoxification (where required)
The aim of the programme is to help each person establish a firm foundation in recovery and to provide them with the tools to live a more manageable, healthy and productive life.
Towards the end of treatment, clients will be encouraged to look at their continuing needs beyond Primary Care and to explore their options. For some clients returning home with a Relapse Prevention plan and package of Aftercare may be the preferred choice. For others the continuation of treatment in to the Secondary Care stage may be more appropriate.
