Family Programme
The Family Programme aims to create a safe place within which participants can identify and explore experiences, emotions and behaviours that may have been influenced and affected by some else’s addiction. Individually and through group discussion participants are helped to gain insight, awareness and information regarding addiction and its impact. Through this process participants will gain in understanding and the action required to make necessary changes.
Through this programme participants will gain:
- Greater understanding of the illness of addiction
- Insight in to the impact of addiction on individuals
- Awareness of the changes that may need to be made
- Support from others
- Knowledge of the recovery process
- Insight with regards to the importance of open and honest communication
- A reminder of their own sense of worth
- Skills to support changes
The Family Programme is run as a five day residential workshop with an emphasis on experiential and participative exercises. The focus is on the impact of addiction and would be particularly useful for close friends and family members or anyone concerned about someone else’s addiction.
